I offer 1:1 counselling and Animal Assisted Therapy for adults, trainee and qualified counsellors, children and young people as well as clinical supervision for individuals and groups of counsellors and others in helping professions. I have worked in a variety of settings including schools, women’s prison, mental health and private practice with a very wide variety of issues – please see the ‘what we work with’ section for more specific details, although this list is not exhaustive. I have specific post-qualification training in working with sexual minorities, teenagers, survivors of abuse and more recently Animal Assisted Therapy.
Training, Qualifications and Experience
I completed counsellor training in 2003, have been working continuously since then, accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy since 2007, and a qualified supervisor since 2013. I am also an experienced teacher in post-16 education and have taught counselling and managed teaching provision at all levels as well as supervising many trainee counsellor placements and successfully coaching counsellors through accreditation. I have worked with my therapy dog Stanley for two and a half years.
